“All the world's a stage…”

OLG students in kindergarten through 8th grade have the opportunity to explore theater in their weekly drama class with Mr. Barrios. For our younger grades, students learn to express themselves and collaborate with classmates, while our older students have the opportunity to participate in performances from “A Christmas Carol,” to the annual Living Stations of the Cross.

We are delighted to offer drama as one of our “specials,” recognizing that theater education has many benefits, including:

  • SOFT SKILLS - developing communication, collaboration, and critical thinking
  • SOCIAL SKILLS - learning to be accountable, empathetic, and tolerant, creating a sense of community
  • ADAPTABILITY - learning to be flexible and try new things
  • MEMORY - rehearsing and performing movements to strengthen memory
  • MOTIVATION - improving drive and reducing stress
  • TRUST - building confidence in themselves and through drama
