The mission of the Our Lady of Grace library is to foster a love of reading in all of our students while also teaching them to safely and effectively use technology to complement their learning. All OLG students visit the library each week to creatively explore seasonal themes and stories and to check out books from the library shelves. We also have a Little Free Library bookcase available if a student forgets to return their book during their library time. We want everyone to have a chance to enjoy reading!

Students in pre-k through 5th grade visit the library to read together and to get creative with craft projects inspired by literature. Similar to story time in a public library, this is a wonderful way for volunteers to join their student's class to help with check out and story time. (Learn more about volunteering at OLG here.)

Once our students reach middle school, their library experience expands with the class becoming “Library and Research Methods,” designed to complement their literature class curriculum. Students learn how to choose appropriate sources for research and writing, how to properly site their sources, and how to build an annotated bibliography.

The Our Lady of Grace Library, led by Mrs. Blackburn, also arranges book fairs and author visits, welcomes middle school students to volunteer and serve as Library Assistants, hosts the St. Jerome Battle of the Books for 3rd through 8th grade, and offers reading challenges throughout the year. You can also find our resident rabbits Nutmeg and Holly in the library, occasionally hopping around!
